A very general question being asked by Macbook users tolerating a slow Macbook performance. So, here we are going to have some tips and tricks to speed up slow Macbook.


A Mac user should take care of few important things while checking mails, installing Mac applications, browsing internet or while chatting.

  1. Please avoid any attachment with emails about which you don't know anything. It could be a malicious program to kill your speed and slow down your Mac performance. So, its better to be safe than sorry.
  2. When installing a new application on your Macbook please make sure you what's being installed. Some programs will ask you if they can install additional software. These may be an unnecesary software and can cause problems for your Mac.

  1. Mac users should keep about 10-20% of hard drive as free space. Mac OS X is smart enough to defrag mac files (files upto 25 MB) automatically. The smart memory allocation Mac OS X reduces the chances of fragmentation in Mac. But, the users who work with media files (usually greater than 25 MB) must defrag Mac drive.
  2. Keep your Mac clean. Your Mac drive can possess a number of unnecessary duplicate files, useless applications installed in it, unnecessary language files and plugins which simply kill your resources and slow down your Macbook.     Certainly a useful post for Mac users! However, the users should consider using a Mac Optimization Tool such as MacRapidizer to maintain Mac & boost its performance. It helps in getting rid of all sorts of digital junk & frees up space for Mac to run effectively.
