Regain space in Mac by removing Photos from Photo Stream

How to delete photos from photo stream in my Mac. The photo stream in iCloud is an excellent feature for getting the photos you've taken to and from all your apple devices—Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Many users try to delete their photos from photo stream due to various reasons. Talking technically, it is very important to maintain enough amount of free space in Mac drive because it avails necessary resources for the processor and ultimately speed up the drive.
iCloud Setting

Now, its the time to discuss how to do it. Mac users can use apps like DaisyDisk to find large directories on their Mac. They may notice a large folder inside iLifeAssetManagement (specifically, in Users/[yourname]/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub).
This folder can be removed with following steps.
  1. Open System Preferences and go to the iCloud settings.
  2. Uncheck 'Photo Stream' (this will turn off automatic syncing back to your Mac.
It can make a noticeable change in Mac performance. Note that the Photo Stream photos can still be accessed through Aperture and iPhoto libraries.
